The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course is an entry-level certification course. Some of the many skills you will learn include buoyancy, proper weighting, marine conservation, equipment assembly, proper dive planning, and equipment maintenance. This course is designed for you to begin exploring dive destinations up to 18 metres around the globe or in your own backyard.

The course is run as 1 evening session (theory), plus one weekend of diving. We aim to provide quality teaching and learning to each student. Your SAFETY is our priority and to ensure you receive this there is a maximum of 4 students per instructor on each course.

We recommend you purchase your own personal mask, snorkel, fins and boots prior to the completion of your course.

Has it been a while since you have been diving? Have 12 months gone by and you are planning a big trip? Do you want the reassurance that you are doing everything properly? The SDI Inactive Diver Program will get you back up to speed. During the course, your SDI Instructor will review equipment assembly and maintenance, dive planning, hand signals, proper ascents and descents, emergency procedures, and buoyancy. By the end of this course you will be able to enjoy your next big dive with confidence and ease.

All required equipment can be supplied. If you have your own gear servicing must be up to date (in the last 12 months).

• A dive medical if not completed in the last 12 months.

Diving is inherently a sport where risks are involved, a dive medical is required to ensure you are fit for diving and that you do not have any pre-exisitng medical conditions that would render you unfit for scuba diving.

To undertake training you are required to have a Recreational SCUBA Diving Medical to Australian Standards 4005.1, overseas medicals are not accepted. Dive medicals are valid for a period of 12 months and if beginning a new course, an updated medical may be required.
